BOOK DONATIONS NEEDED

FINAL STAGES -  WE NEED YOUR HELP

We are still in need of local history books for our library, which is now open. We will be open 3 days a week in the beginning and as we continue to grow, we may eventually open 5 days a week. We need local county history books, surrounding county history books and family genealogies. If you would like to help us purchase much needed books for the library,  please send a donation TO OUR ADDRESS and we will label the book’s interior in your honor or in memory of a loved one. This library will be the only one in Mercer County labeled as a "Specialty Library", recognized by the State of WV.  If you are interested in volunteering to help staff the library or donate books, please contact Lois Miller at

Cemetery Project

If you know where any cemeteries are in Mercer County, no matter what size, please let Dreama Reed know. Dreama is chairman of the cemetery project. There are over 500 cemetery locations in Mercer County. The Historical Society will be publishing these lists, along with directions and pictures. She also needs help going to enumerate them. She could also use donations for gas and printing costs. Dreama's number is 304-384-9484.
