| We hope to open the Research Library in mid-April. In order to complete our
inventory of books, we are requesting your help. We are in need of local and
surrounding county history books and family genealogies. Check your bookshelves
for history or genealogy books you can donate for our research library. We also
need family genealogy histories; if you have something we could copy for our
library, let us know. We will return your originals. Ask your genealogist
friends if they have family genealogies to donate. You may drop off books at the
History House, but call
to make
sure someone will be there. If you need help, call us at 304-425-9017 and leave
a message. If you would like to help us purchase much needed books for the
library,
please send a donation and
we will label the book’s interior in your honor or in memory of a loved one. We
are unable to accept any donations of textbooks, fiction, etc. This is strictly
a history and genealogy library. This library will be the
only one in Mercer
County labeled as a "Specialty Library", recognized by the State of WV.
Members will be on hand to help people use computers to research their ancestry
by using the Internet and the available history books and family genealogy
books. |
