Staff quick start

Choose one job below. Sign in with your approved Microsoft or GitHub account when asked. Each button opens only the workspace needed for that job.

Edit the homepage welcome

  1. Open Page Content.
  2. Update the welcome text or visitor buttons and save a draft.
  3. Record the approval basis, reviewer, and date.
  4. Preview, publish, and check the public homepage.

Add or change an event

  1. Open the event workspace.
  2. Choose an event or select Add a new event.
  3. Complete the large required fields first.
  4. Save, then check the public calendar.
Manage events

Update hours or contact details

  1. Open Hours & Contact.
  2. Confirm the public phone, email, address, and hours.
  3. Add or remove a temporary visitor notice if needed.
  4. Enter the confirmation date, save, and check the Contact page.

Review event participants

  1. Open the participant workspace.
  2. Review one person at a time.
  3. Choose the appropriate action, such as Confirm seats.
  4. Add a note if needed, then save.

Review a tour request

  1. Open tour and event requests.
  2. Read the visitor's date, group, and accessibility needs.
  3. Record contact or confirmation status.
  4. Add staff notes, then save.

Screen a volunteer

  1. Open volunteer screening.
  2. Review one application at a time.
  3. Select Begin screening, Approve volunteer, or Not approved.
  4. Record notes, then save.

Review and publish a photo

  1. Open Asset Review.
  2. Select the next image and confirm it is not a duplicate.
  3. Complete rights, caption, credit, and accessibility text.
  4. Use the publish step only after review is complete.

Add or change a map pin

  1. Open Map Pins & Cards.
  2. Choose a place or select Add a new historic place.
  3. Complete the five plain-language sections.
  4. Save, then check both the Mercer County map and Virtual History Board.

Publish a history story

  1. Open Stories.
  2. Choose a draft or select Add a new story.
  3. Complete the source and public details.
  4. Save, then check the public Stories page.

Print a placard with a QR code

  1. Open Placards & QR Codes.
  2. Choose an already published record.
  3. Build and review the placard.
  4. Print it, then test the QR code with two phones before placing it.

Check the public site

  1. Open the page affected by your change.
  2. Confirm names, dates, images, and links.
  3. Check the page on a phone if possible.
  4. Return to Board Access for another task.
View public site

Download a backup

  1. Open Backup and Restore.
  2. Choose the protected backup download.
  3. Save the file in the Society's approved location.
  4. Do not email or publicly share the backup.
